…. As well as building confidence and self esteem (which are of course essential life skills) Drama is perfect for cross-curricular learning and is a valuable tool for use in many subject areas.

…. In particular drama develops literacy skills – supporting speaking and listening, extending vocabulary and encouraging pupils to understand and express different points of view.

…. Dramatic activity motivates children to write for a range of purposes.

…. Drama gives children opportunities to explore, discuss and deal with difficult issues and to express their emotions in a supportive environment. It enables them to explore their own cultural values and those of others, past and present.

…. It encourages children to think and act creatively, thus developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills that can be applied in all areas of learning.

….And ……through drama, children are encouraged to take responsible roles and make choices – to participate in and guide their own learning. How amazing is that!!!

“Wanted to let you know too that Sam said a few lines in his Easter assembly on Wednesday. I couldn’t believe the difference in his confidence. Mum and dad and other parents commented on it too. He was very clear and really enjoyed it. I have you to thank for that. Your care and attention has definitely given Sam that boost of confidence that he needed. Thank you xxx”

“Luke was in the Easter Assembly at school and everybody, teachers and parents, commented on how fabulous he was. The way he projected his voice was amazing and he looked so confident talking in front of so many people, the difference from this time last year is incredible! And the best thing is he enjoys doing it – he loves getting up in front of people and doing a speech or acting something out. The confidence he has gained since starting at The Drama House is amazing!!”

” I just want to thank you for the super job you do with Molli as her confidence has come on so much, she has been very upset since my mum passed away last year as she was very close with her granny and you give her the confidence she needs and your time. She really enjoyed the smaller group on Saturday and felt she could express herself more and she even put her hand up in school choir to do a solo part today and smashed it so I’m a very proud mum, thank you for for all your hard work xxxxx “
